Hey Procrafinators! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I don't have a video to share today, but I wanted to share my very first Copic colored card with you that I made for my special mother. Last week, I got an AMAZING deal on some second hand Copic markers. Now, when I say second hand, these babies were barely used and very well taken care of. I got such a great deal on these things, I practically stole them! I am just so excited about it! I have 2 sets of cheaper alcohol markers, but haven't been completely happy with them. So far, I am thrilled with my new purchase.
Alright, enough about that, let's show the card!
I got my color inspiration from none other than Kelly Latevola, of course. I used THIS VIDEO for my color inspiration. However, I did have all the markers she used. So, I had to make a couple substitutions, but only one red substitution and one yellow substitution for the flowers. I also made a green substitution for the leaves. I used RV04, RV06, RV09, R39, Y02 & Y17 for my flowers. I used YG11, YG03, YG17 & YG67 for my leaves.
To make my background, I ink blended Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover & just a tiny bit of Faded Jeans around the edges. Then, I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Flower Explosion to stencil on some Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel in white. I finished off the card by adding the "mom" die cut, which is from Cricut Design Space. Then, I added some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen in Glitter Gloss all over the flowers.
I hope you enjoyed the card today and are having a wonderful Mother's Day!
