I'm back with another challenge. This time for TGIF Challenges. I had a lot of fun with this one! This is for Challenge #TGIFC185
This is the sketch for the challenge:
I started by using the holly border dies from my Tonic Craft kit #11 Festive Wishes set and cut those out for the floral elements sticking out from the circle in the sketch. I used Holly Green Mirror Card from Festive Lights Pack by Craft Perfect by Tonic Studios. I took my McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and shaped the holly die cuts to give them dimension.
Then, I cut myself a circle out of red cardstock from my Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles Large set. I used the middle circle in the set. It measured 2.4in cut. I used VersaMark and the Merry Christmas Snowflake stamp from Stampabilities for my sentiment to heat emboss with silver embossing powder from Personal Stamp Exchange.
I cut a white piece of cardstock from my scrap pile down to 4 x 5.25in and stamped snowflakes from the Tonic Craft Kit #11 Festive Wishes all over it in VersaMark and embossed it with the same silver embossing powder as the sentiment. Then I adhered everything to my card base.
Honestly, I thought my card was done here, until I went to submit my card to the challenge and realized that I totally forgot the horizontal/string element. So, I added a 3/4 x 4in strip of silver metallic catdstock that I ran through my embossing machine with the Darice Snowflake Background embossing folder. I backed that strip with a slightly bigger red piece of cardstock so the red would just barely peek out from behind it on the top and bottom.
Here are the pictures of my finished card:
A recap of the supplies used:
